NDUGA - In a remarkable display of unity and compassion, the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, under the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, has turned a community vision into reality. On Monday, 25 November 2024, the Soldiers began constructing a vital church facility in Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. This collaboration with Bombam Village residents and the Kenyam Kingmi Yerusalem Church marks a new chapter of hope and togetherness in the region.
The initiative was born out of ongoing Social Communication (Komsos) activities, led by Captain Bangun, an officer from the 503 Task Forces. Through dialogue with local leaders and church staff, the Soldiers identified the community's need for an enhanced spiritual space and committed to making it a reality.
Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, Commander of the 503 Task Forces, emphasized the broader purpose of their mission:
"Our goal is not just to secure the region but to build stronger communities. By addressing essential needs like this, we forge bonds of trust and contribute to lasting development."
The construction project was met with enthusiasm from the Bombam Village community, who joined the Soldiers in their efforts. Reverend Yohanes Murib of the Kenyam Kingmi Yerusalem Church expressed his heartfelt gratitude:

The program has also drawn praise from Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA, who recognized the project’s significance:
